If you are worried, stressed or frightened about giving birth, our ‘Hypnotherapy for Childbirth’ programme can help you relax, focus and take back control.
You are not alone. Approximately 80% of expectant mothers approach their birth with some level of fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of “something going wrong”, fear of being out of control, or simply because there is an expectation that the birth is going to be very painful and last a long time.
In fact, these fears can hinder the birth process. Fear triggers the stress response in our bodies, resulting in muscle tension and heightened sensitivity, which causes pain. This in turn generates more fear, causing a vicious circle of fear-pain-fear to escalate.
Stress also causes the body to produce adrenaline, which can cause a difficult labour, and a more stressed baby. So worries about pain and not being in control become real, simply because of the worrying.
Would you like to approach your birth feeling calm, relaxed and in control?
Either way, our aim to help you let go of any fears and anxieties you may have relating to your birth, and to equip you with skills so that you can relax, remain calm and feel in control regardless of what is going on around you.
This will help you increase your confidence and your belief in yourself, allowing you to approach the birth positively and calmly and in control.
Our Blissful Birth programme also prepares you for your impending birth by helping you :-
- Understand your beliefs around pain, and how to reduce it
- Understand the mind body connection and how our thoughts affect us.
- Let go of negativity, fear, anxiety and worry about your birth
- Learn how to induce mental and physical relaxation at will
- Understand the importance of language and learn how to create a calm positive environment
In addition, we can also work with your birthing partner so that they can let go of any fears they may have and teach them how to provide emotional support you need to increase your relaxation levels.
